This track was recorded in 1999 at Ice House Studios in San Rafael, California. David Earl engineered, mixed and mastered the track. The song was performed live, just me singing and playing guitar (Gibson J200 with a Sunrise pickup), and we just recorded one take.

Both voice and guitar were recorded with 414ULS microphones through Massenberg mic pres, mixed through an Amek console to ProTools. Waves plugins, 1176 silver face compressor, and that was it!! David says he's never gotten such a good sound from a J200 since that day.

I sung the last line incorrectly (sang 'everything that you feel is an illusion' rather than 'see') but the take was quite nice otherwise so we just let it be. I don't think feelings can really be illusions...delusions maybe...but I digress.

listen to the voices
in your head
fabricating story
everything that you see
is an illusion

glamorizing beauty
from a distance
fantasizing substance
greater than reality
eyes that open
on the inside
the one eternal thing

everything that you see
is an illusion
everything that you feel

still seeking
price of gravity

everything that you see
is an illusion
everything that you feel
